My Story

I stumbled upon psychology during my undergraduate studies, seeking an alternative to the traditional paths of medicine and engineering. As I pursued my degree, I developed a deep passion for the subject. I learnt the concepts of being a psychologist like healing, empathetic listening, and positive regard for others were something that came naturally to me.

I pursued higher degrees and learnt the concepts, theoretical orientations, personality dynamics, family dynamics, and neural mechanisms of the human psyche. And this zest for learning more about the subject and the field led me to complete my PsyD in Clinical Psychology.

I am fortunate to have a career centered around something I love. In my work, I integrate art, movement, and evidence-based therapies. Recently, I have focused on psychotherapy through a trauma-informed lens, promoting indigenous knowledge, cultural humility, community healing, and addressing systemic inequalities to create more inclusive and effective therapeutic approaches.

In the crisp December of 2023, The Curative Therapist, was ideated, where my colleague and friend breathed life into my vision, encouraging me to embrace my purpose. Amidst the aroma of brewing coffee brewing, he aided me in giving shape and structure to it.

I call myself The Curative Therapist, as from very early in my career I curate healing spaces based on the client’s unique experiences and clinical presentations.

I intend to transcend traditional niche boundaries with approaches to psychotherapy and advocate for mental healthcare, ensuring equitable access to health services that extend beyond the therapy room, breaking down barriers and promoting awareness. The goal is to promote mental wellness, encouraging individuals to pause, reflect, and reconnect with themselves and their community.
